God's people had sinned in asking for a king and they knew it. What should they do in their shame? Samuel told them, “Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. Yet do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart." (v.20). This is the right response to our shame. Admit the wrong of your last step and follow hard after God with your next step.
