We have a heritage of being stiff-necked and resisting the Holy Spirit.  We do not have to be great.  We just need to keep our ears opened to God and follow His lead.

When you think of the story of the flood do you ever think that God is mean? The story of Noah actually shows us some really awesome things about God. Like that He is powerful. And that He makes agreements with us. And that He cares about us and provides a way for us to be saved.

We can spend our spiritual energies opposing God. Some good indicator that we are opposing God are when our energies for Him are unloving to others and when we see the fruits of the Spirit in the things we are opposing.
